Server Rules

Kuroosu is a place to have fun and compete fairly. By playing here you agree to these rules. Breaking them can lead to a restriction (ban) of your account.

1Fair play

No cheatsNo cheat clients or assistance software of any kind – aim assist, relax hacks, timewarp / speed changers, tap macros and similar tools. The Relax and Autopilot mods from the game are allowed on their own leaderboards.
No replay tricksDon't edit, steal or submit other people's replays.
No bug abuseFound a bug that gives you pp, score or anything else? Report it instead of using it. Saw a cheater? Report the player.

Every score is checked automatically – see Anti-Cheat.

2Accounts

One accountOne account per person. Multi-accounts will be restricted.
No sharingDon't share your account and don't let anyone else play on it (no boosting).
Keep it cleanNo offensive or inappropriate names, avatars, banners or userpages, and no impersonating other players or staff. Staff may change or remove them.

3Community

Be respectfulNo harassment, hate speech, threats or NSFW content – in-game and on Discord.
Chats are monitoredPrivate messages and group chats (in-game and on the website) are not encrypted. Staff can read them to protect players – harassment, scams or selling accounts/cheats in DMs are punished like anywhere else.
No spamNo spamming and no advertising other servers or services without permission.

4Caught cheating? Everyone gets a second chance

1st timeYour account gets restricted. We believe everyone deserves a second chance: send an appeal on Account standing, be honest, and you can get unbanned (usually after a liveplay).
2nd timeA much longer ban – there is no third chance.
Ban evasionMaking a new account while you are banned makes the ban permanent.
WarningsFor smaller things staff can give you an official warning first. You see it on Account standing; it counts for 90 days. With 3 active warnings the staff takes a closer look at your account.

Very high pp plays can restrict your account automatically until you do a liveplay. That is a check, not a cheating ban.

5Got banned?

Send an appeal on the website Log in and open Account standing: you see why you were restricted and can send an appeal (best with a liveplay video). You get a notification when the staff answers. Don't create a new account while banned: ban evasion makes the ban permanent. Questions? Ask on Discord.

6Verified badge & liveplays

How to get itThe Verified badge requires a liveplay. Open a ticket on Discord – everything you need to do is explained there.
YouTube uploadsIf you record your liveplay, upload it to YouTube as an unlisted video and send the link in the request-liveplay channel on our Discord.
TournamentsYou need to be verified to take part in tournaments.
After an unbanIf you were banned and got unbanned after a review, you receive the Verified badge automatically – our staff give it to you by hand.

!Good to know

Staff decisions are final. The rules can change at any time – changes are announced on our Discord and in the changelog. Not sure if something is allowed? Just ask on Discord before you do it.
